Advantages of nature

Health benefits

Staying in nature, such as a park, garden, or any greenery area gives us mental as well as physical health benefits. In research, it has been found that exercising in a park is much more beneficial than going to a gym and exercising in a closed room.

When we go to the park, we breathe clean air, get vitamin D from the sun. Walking in a park for around 20-30 minutes has proven health benefits such as increased concentration power, and improved immunity. It keeps you fresh all day long. So, spending some time in nature is far better than any medication.

People who stay in nature live longer than the people who spend most of their time in front of Tv, mobile and other gadgets. Staying more in front of the tv, and mobile increases the chances of depression and other illnesses.

Nature unites us

Nature helps us to connect and the rest of the world. According to a study, people who have greenery around them, or live around a park know more people and have a strong feeling of strength. Nature makes people more supportive and helpful towards each other. With this spirit, there is a lower risk of violence and aggression among people.

Nature provides us with medicine

Nature plays a part and parcel role in human life for medicinal plants. Nature is a great medicine provider. We cannot imagine the cure of some diseases without nature. Nature has provided us with many life saving medicines till date like cancer fighting drugs, aspirin, anti HIV drugs, morphine etc.

Ayurveda is also a traditional Indian system of medicine. It seeks to protect health by keeping the mind and body in balance and it protects us from various diseases. Some examples of such Ayurvedic plants and trees are Ashwagandha, Tulsi, Neem.

Gives us fresh water

No one can survive in the world without water. We can’t imagine life n this world without water. About 60% of the world’s drinking water is polluted. The classical example of water pollution is the Yamuna river. A vast area of Yamuna river is covered with white toxic foam, which is caused by industries.

But, soil and plant roots play an integral role in filtering and recycling impurities from the water at a much more affordable cost than building a water filtration plant. So, we can say that we have a natural water filter for which we don’t have to make any huge efforts, but keep on planting trees and plants.

Nature teaches selfless life

The biggest characteristic of nature is that it does not consume its own things. Just like a river does not drink its water, trees do not eat their fruit, flowers spread their fragrance throughout the environment. which means that nature does not discriminate or favor anyone, it just does things inflow.

Beneficial for the economy of the world

Nature is the backbone of the economy and this fact has been neglected. Without having clean water, forest, fertile soil, and a stable environment, the world’s economy might collapse. We cannot even think about surviving if there are not enough resources to consume.

Psychological benefits of nature

We know that staying in nature has so many positive effects on our bodies. But there are numerous mental benefits of nature too. For example, we tend to take less stress as nature has a significant effect on our mental health. Interestingly, you don’t have to make any efforts to reap these benefits, you can get the full benefit of it just by staying in nature, breathing, and listening to the birds chirping.

Staying in nature reduces mental illness, in fact, many counselors suggest a patient with mental illness spend some time in nature daily. Other mental benefits of staying in nature are, it increases focus and attention, makes you calmer, and improves your mood.

In short, nature has all the healing powers.

Disadvantages of nature

As such there are hardly any disadvantages of nature. But still excess of anything is harmful to everyone. If nature can protect us, then it is strong enough to destroy us too. Here are a few disadvantages of nature.

The absence of any factor is disastrous

The trees, animals, rivers, moon, sun, mountains, sea, etc. play an equal role in nature. The absence of a single factor can cause a tragedy in our life. Hence, we can say all these factors are inter-related and incomplete without each other.

The deadly force of nature

As incredible as the natural world may be, it is not always kind. Cyclones, tsunamis, floods, volcanoes, earthquakes, and other natural tragedies cause across-the-board destruction from time to time.

Around 150 million people are affected, and approximately 50,000 to 60,000 people die globally every year because of natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, tsunami, and other natural tragedies.

Now, when we know the advantages and disadvantages of nature, we should stay focused on keeping our nature clean and pollution-free. We should keep this in mind, no matter how advanced technology we get, nature can never be replaced by any technology. Moreover, any mess up with nature can also become deadly.

Nature is a wonderful blessing in our life. So, we are supposed to let nature do its things as it is doing, and it is our responsibility to take care of our natural resources and keep it safe for our future generations.
